While the Gutenberg editor is getting developed<\/a> to be merged in the group, the beta version is available on the WordPress.org repository<\/a> for users to test.<\/p>\n

At the time of writing, there are 1000+ active installs for Gutenberg plugin which has 21 \u2605\u2605\u2605\u2605\u2605 stars<\/code> , 3 \u2605\u2605\u2605\u2605 stars<\/code>, 2 \u2605\u2605\u2605 stars<\/code>, 3 \u2605\u2605 stars<\/code> and 46 \u2605 star<\/code> ratings.<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n

In those 46 one \u2605 star<\/code>\u00a0ratings, one rating from\u00a0Web242 Media<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 which is a Vancouver based Web Design and Web Development company<\/a>, is totally worth a read!<\/p>\n

Here’s how it goes:<\/p>\n

A Visit from St. Gutenberg<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2018Twas the night before 5.0, when all through the house
\nNot a blogger was stirring, not even a mouse;
\nThe WordPress core was updated with care,
\nIn hopes that St. Gutenberg soon would be there;<\/p>\n

Matt and his team were nestled all snug in their beds;
\nWhile visions of WordPress danced in their heads;
\nAnd Matt in his \u2018kerchief, and team in their cap,
\nHad just settled their brains for a long Summers\u2019s nap,<\/p>\n

When out of Automatic there arose such a clatter,
\nMatt rose from his bed to see what was the matter.
\nAway to his computer he flew like a flash,
\nLogged into WordPress and threw up the Dash.<\/p>\n

The moon on the edge of the new-fallen code,
\nGave a lustre of dismay to login once told,
\nWhen what to his wondering eyes did not appear,
\nBut all his posts and pages did completely disappear,<\/p>\n

With little old MCE editor so lively and quick,
\nMatt knew in a moment it was a St. Gutenberg trick.<\/p>\n

More rapid than eagles his programmers they came,
\nAnd Matt whistled, and shouted, and called them by name:<\/p>\n

\u201cNow, Meta! now, Shortcode! now Custom Post and now Plugin!
\nOh, Pages! oh, Posts! all Goner and now not even Login!
\nTo the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
\nNow it\u2019s all gone! gone away! gone away all!\u201d<\/p>\n

As code that before WordPress would fly,
\nNow they met with an obstacle, Saint Gutenberg, oh why?<\/p>\n

So up to the remote office the programmers they flew
\nWith a sleigh full of revisions, and Mullenweg too\u2014<\/p>\n

And then, in a twinkling, Matt heard on the web
\nThat all the bloggers and designers had fled.<\/p>\n

As Matt drew in his head, and was turning around,
\nInto the room St. Gutenberg came with a bound.
\nHe was dressed in Armani, from his head to his foot,
\nAnd his clothes were as sleek with a new editor to boot;<\/p>\n

A bundle of blocks he had flung on his back,
\nAnd he looked like a coder just opening his pack.<\/p>\n

His eyes\u2014how they twinkled! his dimples, how merry!
\n\u201cWho needs MCE, when we have blocks and so many?\u201d<\/p>\n

His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
\nAnd he began to recode WordPress, like no one could know;<\/p>\n

A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
\nSoon gave Matt to know he had so much to dread;<\/p>\n

Gutenberg spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
\nHe pulled apart WordPress; then turned with a jerk,
\nAnd laying his editor aside for all to adore,
\nAnd giving a nod, he pronounced \u201cGutenberg is core!\u201d<\/p>\n

He sprang to his car, to his team gave a whistle,
\nAnd away they all drove like the launch of a missile.<\/p>\n

But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight\u2014
\n\u201cWordPress is gone, and to all Gutenberg good night!\u201d<\/p>\n
