WordPress Translation Day holds importance to me because this is how I started contributing the open source and got involved with WordPress. WordPress 4.7 was the first version of WordPress translated 100% in Urdu<\/a> by WordPress Pakistan Community. Since then, we have managed to maintain 100% translation in the later releases as well. \u270c\ufe0f<\/p>\n

WordPress Translation Day 3 is on 30th September 2017<\/a>, and this time, I am honored to co-host the translation meetup along with Ahmad Awais<\/a> & Maedah Batool<\/a>. While I was planning the event, Ahmad suggested me to write down a guide to help the new translators and streamline the event. Here, I am writing a brief guide on translating WordPress into Urdu.<\/p>\n

Step#1: WordPress.org Account<\/h2>\n

The very first step is to create an account on WordPress.org<\/a> and log in because this is how your WordPress is going to keep track of your contributions and add your profile to the team of Urdu locale contributors.<\/p>\n

Step#2: Locating The Project To Contribute<\/h2>\n

Next, head to the\u00a0Urdu Translation Page of WordPress<\/a>. By default, it opens the WordPress Core versions.<\/p>\n

On the top, you can see different tabs \u2013 Themes, Plugins, Meta, and Apps<\/strong> \u2013 switch to any tab to see the projects available for translation. Click on any project to see detailed translation stats. For now, I am going with WooCommerce under the Plugins tab.
