It is crucial to have the latest support version of PHP. The new updates offer<\/span><b> security patches, fix vulnerabilities<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and <\/span><b>improve<\/b> <b>performance<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\ud83e\udd1e When you add a new site on Kinsta, <\/span><b>by default it uses the latest version of PHP which is 7.3<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The minimum version of PHP allowed by Kinsta while migrating a WordPress website is version 5.6. It is because 34.7% of the developers are still using v5.6 in their projects.
